:: Major Jackson lives in South Burlington, Vermont, and teaches English at the University of Vermont. His poems have appeared in the American Poetry Review, Callaloo, Grand Street, Triquarterly, and The New Yorker, among other journals. The recipient of a Whiting Writers' Award, Jackson is one of two U.S. poets to receive a Library of Congress Witter Bynner fellowship in 2003; he also has received fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, Cave Canem, Inc., Pew Fellowship in the Arts, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. His first collection, Leaving Saturn, was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.
